Photography

I hadn’t touched a camera in years, but when I was well into my 30s, I started taking pictures simply because I was struck by beauty.  I began in the garden with the flowers and plants.  I practiced framing what struck me, pressing the button, studying the photos I took, and trying again and again to communicate the beauty I saw.  Over time, I ventured farther into natural and human landscapes, and I came to recognize in my photography a spiritual practice as much as a hobby.  Through the process of seeing, framing, exposing, and then reviewing, I notice with fresh awareness what God is doing in the world.  “…And it is marvelous in our eyes!” (Psalm 118:23)

Note Cards and Prints Are Available!

To order packages of note cards or prints of my photos in a variety of sizes, click here to go to my Square shop.

If you want a print of one of my photos and it is not in the Square shop, or if you would prefer to pay by check or cash, e-mail me at ericmbeene@gmail.com, and I will let you know how you can order.

All photo prints will be professionally printed.  Photos size 8″ x 10″ and smaller will be mounted with a white mat and delivered in a clear cellophane bag.  Photos size 11″ x 14″ and larger will be delivered in a tube and ready for framing and matting; if you do not want to take them to a professional framer, correctly sized mats and frames are widely available from many retailers.

I am also available for conversations, retreats, and workshops on contemplative photography.  E-mail me at the address above for information.

Some of my photos available for prints are also pasted in the gallery below.  Enjoy!
